My name is Rachel Oliver, and I’m currently in search of a better job or career.
One thing I know for certain is that I love writing, and to do so professionally would certainly be a dream job, but it does not feel realistic. I don’t have any degrees or publications… yet?
So, at a minimum, this website will be a simple blog and outlet to indulge and express myself. Perhaps it will grow into something worthy of being called a professional writing portfolio. I’d like to keep the content general, relatable, and somewhat serious, but it would be disingenuous to pretend I don’t have nerdy obsessions or a sense of humor.
At the moment, this website also features a generic default layout. But another serious hobby of mine is web development, so that will undoubtedly change in the near future. I have enough interest and experience with it that it does feel like a realistic career path for me, but I still have a considerable amount to learn before I reach what I would consider to be a professional level with it.
To summarize, this website mainly exists as a space for me to write and practice web design. I may include it on my resume, but this is merely an example of some specific interests and abilities of mine.
